One of the biggest trends in eCommerce marketing is using influencers to help promote your products. This is largely due to the huge impact social media has on businesses and sales. Influencer marketing, for some, can be highly effective and help grow your business, but for others, it may not have that same effect. There’s also a learning curve involved with influencer marketing, meaning it’s not advantageous for businesses to jump into this marketing effort without extensive research and planning. Otherwise, you risk spending a lot of money on a marketing effort that will yield little to no results.

Before launching into influencer marketing — or any new marketing effort, you need to consider things like:

  • What kind of budget can I allocate to this marketing effort?
  • Can we support it in-house, or do we need to hire someone to manage the campaign?
  • What product(s) do we want to promote?
  • What kind of ROI can we expect?
  • What is the competition in this area?
  • Can we A/B test to see what will yield the greatest results?
  • What other marketing efforts can/will support the new one?
